Day 1: Welcome lunch, Lake Shasta Caverns

We’ll begin our day with a welcome lunch at Moonstone Bistro in downtown Redding, California. From there we’ll venture to Lake Shasta for a private guided tour through the Lake Shasta Caverns, a most-treasured historic landmark of the region. Enjoy spectacular views of the lake as we find ourselves in the rustic elegance of Highlands Ranch Resort. The evening is yours to explore the lodge and savor exquisite dining, special cocktails and craft beers at the Highlands Ranch restaurant.

Day 2: Lassen Volcanic National Park and Lake Tahoe

Premium Lodging: The Landing Tahoe Resort & Spa

Take the morning to relax and enjoy the amenities on the ranch. After breakfast we will depart for Lassen Volcanic National Park, located just 10 minutes from the ranch. Similar to Yellowstone National Park, Lassen Volcanic area features unique hydrothermal features such as bubbling mud pots and steaming fumaroles, geysers and hot springs. If you would like to explore any of the hiking trails, our chef will provide you with a packable lunch. After a day of venturing through the park, we will board the Expedition Cruiser to make our way to the great blue waters of Lake Tahoe. Our Hospitality Guide will serve in-transit appetizers and beverages to sustain you until we reach The Landing Tahoe Resort & Spa. Enjoy a quiet evening at Jimmy’s Restaurant, located on-site, serving fine dining and craft cocktails.

Day 3: Lake Tahoe

Premium Lodging: The Landing Tahoe Resort & Spa

Lake Tahoe is full of exciting water activities such as jet skiing, parasailing, cliff jumping, kayaking, paddle boarding and fly fishing excursions. If you’re up for an adventure, Zephyr Cove Stables offers beautiful guided scenic trail rides on horseback. There are multiple scenic hiking and biking trails and plenty of beach-front to lounge on, just steps away from the resort. With so many options, you may choose how you spend your day. We will regroup in the evening for an elegant sunset dinner cruise through Lake Tahoe’s Emerald Bay. We will return to The Landing for our final night on the lake.

Day 4: Plymouth California Wine Country, Mariposa, Fish Camp

Premium Lodging: Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite

Our morning will begin early with a scenic drive through Plymouth California Wine Country, known to wine enthusiasts as the new Napa Valley. Our trip down the Shenandoah Wine Trail will bring us to the region’s top-notch wineries where guests will have the opportunity for brief wine tastings and tours of the property. We’ll continue our journey through the quaint town of Mariposa to stretch our legs and check out the unique shops before ending our day at Tenaya Lodge. Enjoy dinner at one of their 3 on-site restaurants and rest up as we prepare for our day in Yosemite National Park.

Day 5: Yosemite National Park

Premium Lodging: Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite

To avoid traffic at the park entrance, we’ll rise early to board  the Tenaya Lodge Mercedes Sprinter Vans, featuring luxury leather seating and a retractable moonroof. Navigating the twists, turns and narrow roads with ease, this route of transportation will provide an optimal experience within Yosemite National Park. We’ll visit prime destinations such as the giant Sequoias of Mariposa Grove, Inspiration Point, Glacier Point, El Capitan, and Yosemite Valley with spectacular views of Half Dome. After lunch we’ll take a scenic drive along Tioga Road to view several viewpoints leading to Tuolumne Meadows where we’ll await a captivating sunset. Guests will have opportunities to walk a variety of nature trails, and visit the parks visitor centers throughout the day. Our evening will conclude with a drive back to Tenaya Lodge.

Day 6: Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

Premium Lodging: Wuksachi Lodge

Our morning brings us to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks - home to the Giant Sequoias. We’ll visit key areas such as General Grant Grove, Moro Rock, the Giant Forest Museum, Cedar Grove, and much more. The evening will conclude at the Wuksachi Lodge located in the southern end of the park.

Day 7: Forestiere Underground Gardens, Farewell Lunch, Journey Home

This morning we’ll depart early for a scenic drive into the city of Fresno, California. We’ll visit the historic hidden landmark, Forestiere Underground Gardens, for a tour of the incredible landscaping and designs of Baldasare Forestiere. Next we’ll sit down for a farewell lunch before we drop you off at the airport or the hotel of your choice. Thank you for choosing National Park Travel Club.
