Day 1: Bryce Canyon National Park

Lodging:  The Lodge at Bryce Canyon

We will pick guests up at the St. George Regional Airport at 1:00 pm and begin our drive to Bryce Canyon National Park – a wondrous land of pines, pinnacles and oddly sculpted formations known as hoodoos, resembling the towers of fairy-tale castles. Magnificent spires, tinted with shades of pink, orange and red, put on a captivating show as the light changes throughout the day. Keep an eye open for the park’s abundant wildlife, including elk, coyotes, marmots, and prairie dogs, as you explore the park from your sought-after accommodations at The Lodge at Bryce Canyon. Listed on the National Historic Register, The Lodge is nestled in a forest of towering ponderosa pines in the heart of the park.  The sunset at the amphitheater is just steps from your hotel room and will provide memories for a lifetime.

Day 2:  Bryce Canyon

Lodging: Zion Lodge, Zion National Park

Getting up early to appreciate the hoodoos, spires, pinnacles and other geological formations of Bryce Canyon create an atmosphere that is unmatched as the sun rises.  If we get cooperation from the weather, an optional adventure is a trail ride on either a horse or mule, and escorted by a cowboy guide, which will show us the hidden gems of Bryce Canyon.  For those that want to explore on foot, the trail system is well managed, safe and is manageable for most activity levels. We will spend most of the day in Bryce Canyon exploring the many trails, scenic outlooks and countless panoramic views with a special stop for lunch with majestic views.  Around 5pm we will depart Bryce Canyon for Zion National Park with dinner being served in-transit. It is just two hours across the southwestern Utah to Zion National Park, where colorful sandstone canyons and 3,000-foot-high palisades tower above the lush greenery of the canyon floor. We will arrive and take a short hike to the Emerald Ponds with our guide while luggage is being put in your room.  The park’s shuttle system and network of hiking trails afford access to its key geologic features – thriving vegetation includes cottonwood trees and dry desert plants; wildlife ranges from mule deer to hundreds of bird species. Our evening will be spent at the historic Zion Lodge which is nestled in one of the most majestic landscapes in the world.

Day 3:  The Narrows and Zion National Park

Lodging:  Zion Lodge, Zion National Park

The mornings and evenings are spectacular in Zion and today we will experience both.  For those that want to hike the Narrows, we will depart in the morning for this amazing adventure.  Starting at the Temple of Sinawava (the last stop on the free Zion Canyon shuttle), we will hike up the Riverside Walk trail and then continue hiking right up the river to see some of the best "narrows" sections of the North Fork of the Virgin River. A side hike up Orderville Canyon is also a good detour to see even more amazing slot canyon scenery. As a round-trip hike, this can be as leisurely or strenuous as you wish to make it. There are many other options for hiking for the day and your guide will give full descriptions for each guest so that they can match trail systems to their pace and level of hiking.  The town of Springdale is a wonderful place to shop and try the locally sourced treats that are in abundance. The night air has never been more peaceful than on the porch of your cabin at the Zion Lodge.

Day 4:  Morning in Zion

The morning is yours to relax and enjoy your last few moments in Zion.  We will depart for St George at 11:00 am and our Chef will provide lunch in transit during the 1 hour and 15 minute scenic drive.  You will arrive rested, fed and ready for your flight home at 12:30 pm.
